Spools of fibre used in the fashion industry manufacturing process

One of the most significant difference between Polar Endurance socks and less environmentally conscious footwear is the source material used.

All our raw material is supplied by Recover™. Recover™ is a leading materials science company and global producer of low-impact, high-quality recycled cotton fibre and fibre blends. Recover™ allows for a closed-loop and truly sustainable source of material for the fashion industry.

Recover™ turns textile waste from post-industrial and pre- and post-consumer origins into valuable, high-quality recycled fibre and fibre blends. We work with Recover™ to integrate their sustainable process into our supply chain, providing a closed-loop end-to-end solution.

The revolutionary process of Recover™ allows us to ensure the longest fibre at the lowest environmental cost, enabling us to close the fashion loop.

The four steps Recover™ use are as follows:

Cutting. Large pieces of textile waste are cut into smaller ones. Alll non-textile elements are removed.

Treatment. Textile waste is treated with an antistatic spray.

Shredding. The small pieces of textile waste are processed in side the machines. This optimisation process is used exclusively by Recover™.

Packing. Recover™ fibre is now ready to be integrated into the Polar Endurance manufacturing process.

Textile waste is typically the material that becomes unusable or worthless after the end of production or use of any textile product. But we applaud the Recover™ process and, like them, don’t see waste, we see circular solutions. Textile waste is the raw material, and it is used to create the Recover™ recycled fibres that can be incorporated back into our textile production, allowing us and other in our industry to move towards a closed-loop model.
